Florida city bans nightclubs, dance halls, skating rinks

Call it a modern-day adaptation of "Footloose." The city of Weston, Fla., has banned nightclubs, dance halls and skating rinks, the Sun-Sentinel reports, over concerns of the crime and crowds they sometimes bring. "This is something that we thought would protect the city,” Mayor Eric Hersh said, citing four nightclub stabbing deaths in Broward County since 2002.
